Elin Price-Olovsson, LMFT

Emotionally focused Therapist

(Pronouns: she/her)

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT Elin

Born and raised on a small farm in Sweden, my early years were filled with animals, nature and adventure. After completing high school, I became an au-pair and was fortunate to be matched with a family in Denver, Colorado. It was during that time that I not only found so much beauty in this state I now call home, but I also found love. Twenty years later, my husband and I have two boys and our cats River and Cinder. When I’m not working, I am a busy mom, partner and friend. I love cooking and completing projects around our house. Being creative, enjoying nature and fostering fur babies are some things that really help me recharge.

Why do clients choose Elin Price-Olovsson? Here is a bit of voluntary feedback from a few of her clients.

“Elin is AMAZING. I have never found someone that I feel as comfortable with as Elin!”

“I am so deeply grateful to have found a therapist who is comforting and challenging in a positive way. I am hopeful about my future for the first time in a long time.”

“Elin hears what isn't said and is so wonderfully comforting during our sessions, we feel totally at ease revealing things to her.”

“Elin gave me a sense of calmness. I felt safe.”

“We don't have enough words to describe how wonderful and talented and wise Elin is. She is what every client hopes to find in a therapist. We feel like I've won the lottery in finding her.”

“Elin was a great match for me - I always felt so heard and understood by her during our time together.”

“Elin provided insight that helped me understand myself better. She asked me how I felt at times when I tried to ignore my feelings so that i could pay attention to them.”

Why I pursued a career in Marriage and Family Therapy

I experienced several impactful challenges throughout my childhood that influenced how I see the world and myself. The earliest of which was my years-long struggle to learn how to read and write. I worked hard, yet was left feeling frustrated and questioning my own self-worth. I felt broken. Due to perseverance and determination, I was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. This provided a profound sense of relief and was my first experience of the powerful emotional shifts that happen when we are able to understand and tend to, the root cause of a problem.

When I was eight years old, we welcomed a six-year-old little girl to join our family. We were her seventh, and final foster home. We worked hard to provide love and stability, two elements of life that were foreign to my new sister. I witnessed how hard it can be to trust and embrace the emotional support we need most to thrive in life. I could never have imagined the impact my sister would have on my life and today she is one of the strongest people I know.

Through these experiences, I came to know that I wanted to become an ICCEFT-certified EFT therapist. I enjoy helping others work through their life experiences that have created feelings of self-doubt or feeling alone. Communication, trust, and love fuel healthy relationships, and I know it isn’t always easy to be vulnerable. I believe it is never too late for personal growth and to mend relationships. By creating a safe space for my clients to explore their emotional experiences and understand their narrative, they are able to break free from difficult patterns and feel open to new ways of thinking and being.

Beneath every behavior there is a feeling. And beneath each feeling is a need. And when we meet that need, rather than focus on the behavior, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom.
